It's a chance to start fresh. To begin again and try a little harder. Working and growing, learning new things, establishing new relationships and strengthening the old ones.
A new year...
"Get out a pen and some paper, it's time to make a list of resolutions." Sound familiar, huh? But how long before that list is forgotten, discarded amid the busyness of our daily life. If you've ever started out armed with good intentions only to find they didn't hold water when the rain came, you're not alone.
This isn't the most encouraging thought, in fact this line of thinking is rather deflating, isn't it? I want to share a thought with you that is most encouraging:
God is still working.
Your plans may go awry and most likely 2018 will not accommodate your itinerary, but God has a plan for you. He has a plan for your life, for your year, for every single new day.
God doesn't mane "New Years Resolutions". He has a far reaching plan for you and His love never waivers. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He won't abandon His plan the first time you stumble. Sometimes it is hard to see him working, but if we seek to follow him and do right, he will bless us richly.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." - Matthew 6:33
- Seek to follow God in the new year He's given us. Give him your time, service and devotion.
- Seek after a deeper relationship with Him. You will never be happier than you'll be when you're walking close to God in daily conversation and service.
- Seek souls. Tell the good news, it should be our priority because he gave us a commission to share His love and salvation with others.
- Seek to serve. Our earthly achievements will all burn one day, only what we do for Christ will have any lasting meaning.
"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;"
- Psalm 63:11
May God bless you richly in the new year, and may you be found in His Service!
