"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses the same commit thou to faithful men, who also shall be able to teach others also" - 2 Timothy 2:2
As Pastor Jerry Jackson and his family prepare for their move to Pennsylvania we have mixed emotions. We are happy to see them stepping out to follow God as he leads them to minister in the church there. But we are very sad that they have to leave us to do it. It is a very hard thing to be separated from family and friends and move to a new place that is unfamiliar and distant.
I want to remind you to pray for the whole Jackson family they need out love an encouragement. It is normal for us to have some sorrow right now. God does not expect us not to have any sadness. I was reading in Psalm 30 and I found several encouraging verses. In verse 5 - "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.". In verse 2 - "O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.". In verse 11 - "Thou has turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;".
Our church must pull together in unity. We must step in and fill the gap. This is an opportunity for us to grow and become better servants. Let us all be faithful in whatever calling God has given us. Psalm 29:11 - "The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace."
I'm excited to see how God will work in our church as we step up and say "Here am I, what can I do to serve?" God doesn't want us to be comfortable and complacent. He wants us to struggle sometimes so we can become stronger.
Turn to Him for comfort and strength.
